We operate under the guidelines and regulations established by the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA), ensuring compliance with the Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) governing the practice of psychology and counseling.
Confidentiality and Privacy: We maintain strict confidentiality standards in alignment with state laws and ethical codes set forth by reputable professional organizations such as the American Psychological Association (APA) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Any exceptions to confidentiality are clearly outlined in the informed consent document provided to our clients.
Cultural Sensitivity: Hawaii's diverse cultural landscape is acknowledged and respected within our practice. Our therapists are committed to providing culturally sensitive and inclusive care, recognizing and honoring the unique backgrounds, beliefs, and values of each individual we serve.
Emergency Procedures: While our therapeutic services aim to provide support and coping strategies, they are not intended for crisis intervention. In cases of emergency or immediate danger, we urge clients to dial 911 or contact local emergency services. Additionally, residents of Hawaii can access crisis hotlines such as the Crisis Line of Hawaii by dialing 988.
Informed Consent: Prior to beginning treatment, clients are encouraged to actively participate in the therapy process by providing informed consent. This includes thorough discussions regarding treatment goals, expectations, potential risks, benefits, and any questions or concerns related to therapy.
Fees and Payment: Our fee structure is transparently outlined in the financial agreement provided to clients. We offer various payment options and may assist clients in navigating insurance reimbursement processes when applicable.
Client Rights: We uphold the rights of our clients to autonomy, dignity, and respect throughout their therapeutic journey. Should any client feel uncomfortable or have concerns about their therapy experience, we encourage open communication with their therapist or direct contact with the Hawaii DCCA for assistance.
